PBAS is a non-partisan, non-profit corporation established to focus attention on issues that impact the business community, by identifying issues of vital concern to independent business leaders. PBAS provides private business owners and community leaders with the means to stay informed of current and relevant issues. The group works to achieve open lines of communication with elected officials and business leaders in order to promote effective solutions. PBAS aims to assist private business owners to achieve their goals and public officials to effectively serve the interests of their private businesses.

Under Dr. Lorenzโ€™s leadership, Seminole State has been named among the top 150 community colleges in the nation by the Aspen Institute. She has been recognized by Orlando Business Journal as a 2021 CEO of the Year for her leadership in the Collegeโ€™s response to the COVID-19 pandemic; in launching a new strategic plan for the College, Flight Plan 2025; and for Seminole Stateโ€™s Excellence and Equity in Community College STEM Award from the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program and the Siemens Foundation.

PBAS invited all candidates for Seminole County Commission who are facing opposition in the primary.

County Commissioner - District 2
๐Ÿ”น Katrina Shadix, founder and executive director of Bear Warriors United; and an appointed member of the Central Florida Expressway Authorityโ€™s Environmental Advisory Group.

๐Ÿ”น Brittany Walker, mother, businesswoman, and local conservative activist; founder of Eques Consulting; Vice President of the Republican Club of Lake Mary.

๐Ÿ”น Commissioner Jay Zembower, the incumbent, has represented Seminole county on many regional boards including the Little Big Econ State Park Advisory board, Metroplan Orlando, Sanford Orlando International Airport board, Orlando Economic Partnership board, and the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.
