PBAS is a non-partisan, non-profit corporation established to focus attention on issues that impact the business community, by identifying issues of vital concern to independent business leaders. PBAS provides private business owners and community leaders with the means to stay informed of current and relevant issues. The group works to achieve open lines of communication with elected officials and business leaders in order to promote effective solutions. 🔹 Pamela Nabors is an integral force for helping create employment solutions that serve our county, state and country. She is President and CEO of CareerSource Central Florida, the official workforce development board for our five counties (including Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Lake, and Sumter). CareerSource is responsible for managing state and national funding and grants dedicated to creating employment solutions in our region to support the success of both our residents and local businesses – at no cost to you.
🔹 Dr. Georgia Lorenz began her tenure as the third president of Seminole State College of Florida on Aug. 1, 2018. Under Dr. Lorenz’s leadership, Seminole State has been named among the top 150 community colleges in the nation by the Aspen Institute. She has been recognized by Orlando Business Journal as a 2021 CEO of the Year for her leadership in the College’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic; in launching a new strategic plan for the College, Flight Plan 2025; and for Seminole State’s Excellence and Equity in Community College STEM Award from the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program and the Siemens Foundation.
🔹 Gene Traveres has been the Business Liaison and Partnership Developer for college, career and citizenship programs for Seminole County Schools since 2017. He develops positive, productive partnerships with member of the business community to benefit work based learning initiatives and supervises high school interns, facilitating delivery of online internship courses.

PBAS invited all candidates for Seminole County Commission who are facing opposition in the primary.
Those joining us will include:
County Commissioner - District 2
🔹 Katrina Shadix, founder and executive director of Bear Warriors United; and an appointed member of the Central Florida Expressway Authority’s Environmental Advisory Group.
🔹 Brittany Walker, mother, businesswoman, and local conservative activist; founder of Eques Consulting; Vice President of the Republican Club of Lake Mary.
🔹 Commissioner Jay Zembower, the incumbent, has represented Seminole county on many regional boards including the Little Big Econ State Park Advisory board, Metroplan Orlando, Sanford Orlando International Airport board, Orlando Economic Partnership board, and the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.

🔹 Commissioner Amy Lockhart, the incumbent, was first elected to the School Board in 2012, and subsequently re-elected in 2016, Amy served as vice-chairman for two consecutive years, followed by an additional two years as chairman.
